This course explores the basic concept of sustainability and its challenges. At present, there is a dearth of knowledge on sustainability and management. The concepts are varied, based on understandings of the relationships between management and various social, environmental and economic dimensions of sustainability. How sustainability is viewed and addressed is shaped by a diversity of multi-stakeholder perspectives, governance, and other external factors. This course will help you to draw links among various social issues and sustainable management. Enrolling in this course, therefore, will help you to comprehend the interactions, relationship and interdependence between management and the basic principles of sustainability (i.e. social, economic and environmental). This course promises to be both engaging and thought-provoking, aimed at anyone who wishes to gain a deeper understanding of a subject that is no longer perceived as a choice but a necessity for future managers and business leaders alike.

COVID-19 has become a global threat to everyone around the world, but the pandemic also poses risks specific to women in various aspects including health, economy, security, and social protection. In the times of crisis, when resources are strained and institutional capacity is limited, women and girls face disproportionate impacts with far reaching consequences that are only further amplified in contexts of fragility, conflict, and emergencies. Indeed, the UN Women also raises the fact that hard-fought gains for women are also under threat. Although primary efforts are being put into effectively flattening the COVID-19 curve, important considerations should be made to resolve existing inequalities that have been aggravated by the pandemic, and to build a resilient world in the interest of everyone including both men and women.
